Waverly defeats Lincoln Northeast 14–5 in the first game of the day here at the LPS Softball classic. Next up, North Platte.

The Waverly & Omaha Skutt SB games will resume play on Wednesday, September 25th. The Varsity will resume at 5:00pm with JV to follow. No Admission will be taken.

Due to this evenings rain forecast, LPS had made some updates with the LPS Softball Classic for tomorrow morning. Waverly will get started at 11:00am.

SCHEDULE CHANGE ALERT: Varsity softball will now start at 4:00pm this afternoon vs. Omaha Skutt. We will play JV following the varsity game if weather & field conditions permit. The activity schedule has been updated. Reminder, WHS does not dismiss school until 3:40pm.

Girls Golf competed at the Beatrice Invite today. The team finished 7th and Marin Maahs finished with a 96 and 15th overall. Congrats to Everyone!!!

The JV/V softball games scheduled for this evening have been postponed due to extreme heat this afternoon/evening. We will move this matchup to Monday, September 16th. Same location and start times.

The Waverly Girls Golf team hosted a tri yesterday at Crooked Creek. Waverly finished w/ a 205, L. Christian - 210, and Elmwood-M.- 226. Top finishers: 1. Hannah Petersen (EM) 44, 2. Susana Roehr (LC) 45, 3. Sophie Johnson (W) 48, 4/5. Marin Maahs (W) & Rose Offner (EM) tied 49

Waverly Softball started the 2024 Season going 2-0 in pool play last night at the Omaha Gross Cougar Classic. Waverly will play in the Championship game @ Omaha Gross High School tomorrow, Saturday, August 24th. The game is scheduled to start at 12:00pm.

REMINDER, Fall Sports Parent Meetings are tomorrow night. We will have a keynote speaker with Proactive Coaching at 6:30pm in the auditorium with individual meetings to follow. Families w/ student-athletes should plan to attend.

We will have another SWAY testing session here at WHS tomorrow, August 13th starting at 3:00pm. Please report to the front office and be sure you have the SWAY app downloaded on your device.

Congratulations to our WHS Volleyball Team for earning the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award. The program maintained a year-long GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale, to earn the award for their classroom excellence during the recently completed academic year.

A couple added to a the Wall of Fame and a couple of updates!!! Looking forward to 2024-2025 with these 4 returning!!

The NCA honored Coach Brian Benson as the State Girls Track & Field Coach of the Year. ATTA WAY COACH...CONGRATULATIONS! Thank You for your continued leadership with our kids. This caps a wonderful evening by the NCA in honoring our coaches. A special night for Waverly indeed!

Congratulations to our very own Coach Blankenship. He was honored yesterday evening for his 45 years of coaching and serving kids by the Nebraska Coaches Association. THANK YOU Blank for your guidance, leadership, and the care you have for kids.
