Personal Care Cupboard
Waverly Middle & High Schools both have personal care cupboards with hygiene products available to students in need. Students at both schools can contact their school counselors or nurse if they are in need of anything.

Waverly BackPack Program
School District 145 is privileged to have Bethlehem Covenant Church as a valuable partner in collaboration with the Food Bank of Lincoln to offer backpacks, aiding students who qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch by supplying nourishing provisions to students and their families throughout the school year.

The cost of providing monthly groceries for one student for the school year is approximately $250.  Bethlehem Covenant Church procures these essential food items from the Food Bank of Lincoln.  Each backpack typically includes 6-8 nonperishable food items as well as a voucher for a gallon of milk, loaf of bread or a dozen eggs.  This endeavor ensures that every dollar is maximized to support families within School District 145.

If you are in need of a backpack or wish to make a donation to support the School District 145 Backpack Program, please contact:

The Community Closet
The Community Closet is an organization that provides new and gently used clothing for free to families residing in our school district. During the fall and spring seasons, families in all 5 District 145 schools can sign up to receive and pick out clothing through The Community Closet. Watch your emails! Information and sign up forms will be sent out via email when The Community Closet is accepting appointments.

We realize that circumstances can change and kids grow like weeds! Please reach out to your student's school counselor between "shopping seasons" if you need access to The Community Closet and they will help coordinate a time to pick out clothing and necessities.

If you'd like to donate your new or gently worn clothing items, we have three convenient drop-off locations! At the High School, a donation barrel is located inside the first set of doors, at Hamlow Elementary - a bin is located inside the main north doors, and Eagle Elementary's bin is located in the lunch room, just beyond the entryway doors. Donations can be dropped off any school day between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
